Identification of Resistance to Powdery Mildew on Melon

Abstract

Abstract: In this study,the resistance to powdery mildew in 8 F₁ hybrid varieties and 12 landraces of melon in air-conditioned greenhouse was preliminarily identified by wind media inoculation.The results showed that 8 F₁ hybrids were susceptible.Most of landraces were susceptible,1 landrace was immune,and 1 landrace had an immuned line and four susceptible lines. This indicated that population of landraces have resistant genes which have a potential value to melon breeding.
