Abstract: The sensitivity of different maize genotypes to the nitrogen fertilizer was determined through the study of effects of the fertilizer on summer maize in Beijing suburbs. The widely planted Tangkang 5 is not sensitive to chemical fertilizers. It has stable yield under medium to lower levels of fertilizer application and failed to gain yield increase at highs levels of fertilizer application. To get high yield and efficiency of maize,fertilizer-sensitive varieties should be adopted in the futrue.
