Analysis on Effects of Main Economic Traits at Different Boll Positions on Upland Cotton Plant

Abstract: The experimental results from four upland cotton varieties(lines)indicated that the different positions of cotton bolls on the same plant differently affected them ain economic traits such as bollw eitht,lint percentage,seed index,and fiber length. A rulew as found for the distribution of the lower values of the traits.They were distributed on the first to third joints on the lower branches and the outer joints on the upper and middle branches.The high-er and middle values appeared mainly at the first and second joints on the middle branches .The lower values seldom appeared at the first joints on the fifth to ninth branches .
