Abstract: The discriminant model of maize plant shape was studied according to leaf angle above ear, orientation value of leaves above ear and orientation values of three ear leaves (a leaf above ear,an ear leaf and a leaf below ear).The discriminant model was established on the basis of four leaf types-compact type,nearly compact type,nearly apread type and spread type,and with the stepwise discriminant analysis method.Rediscriminant accuracy was 100%.The plant type was discriminated for 30 hybrid strains of maize with better effect.Thus it is proved that this method is useful for discriminant of plant-type of maize and plant type breeding.
