A Study on the Relationship between the Primary Root System and the Growth and the Development of Spring Wheat

Abstract

Abstract: In order to study the relationship between primary root system and the growth,development and yield of different varieties or strains of Spring wheat,experiments on spring wheat strains were made.The primary roots were cut off and weighted,their statistics were made.The results showed that different varieties(strains)have different numbers of primary roots.This difference has showed during the seedling period and is closly related with its character development and yield components.Hence it is possible to appraise the harvest traits of different wheat strains through measurement of primary root systems during the seedling stage in the laboratory.
