Abstract: In the article,it describes the producing process of nitric oxide(NO)(possibly via NO synthase, nitrate reducatases, and nonenzymatic reactions),and the influence of NO on plant growth and development and responses to stress condition, and NO signaling transduction processes and synergistic effects with other signaling molecular. Moreover,it probes the prospects in the future research.

Key words: Nitric oxide, Biosynthetic pathway, Growth and development, Signal transduction
