Primary Study on the Vigour Index of Drought Resistance as the Appraise Index in Corn Germination Stage

Abstract: Vigor index of drought resistance which was used as the index in this study was put forward firstly. Drought resistance of eighteen maize varieties was conducted through adopting PEG solution simulating soil drought treatment. The results showed that: There was a significant correlation between the vigor index of drought resistance and sprout index of drought resistance. The vigor index of drought resistance could better reflect the differences among different maize seedling varieties under water stress and could be used as a filtrating method appraising drought resistance in maize germination stage.
