Abstract: Effect of exogenous glycinebetaine(GB)on the salt resistance of rice seedlings including photosynthetic characteristics was studied. The results showed that GB in the certain extent could obviously improve salt resistance of seedlings.GB could increase chlorophyll a fluorescence induction kinetics parameters Fv/Fo,Fv/Fm of leaves of rice seedling under salt stress and improve the growth and light energy conversion of rice seedlings.Exogenous GB could also increase POD activity and slowly reduce the content of chlorophyll.

Key words: Glycinebetaine, Chlorophyll, ChlorophyⅡ a fluorescence induction kinet ics parameter
