Abstract: The experiments were conducted in the growth responses of Rhizoctonia solani isolated from Kentucky bluegrass in Beijing region at seven temperatures(12,16,20,24,28,32,36℃),two illumination conditions(whole dark and 12 h light/dark cycles),and the inhibition activity of 10 fungicides on pathogens in laboratory. The field trails of 4 fungicides control on Kentucky bluegrass brown patch were carried out.Optimal temperature for mycelial growth was 24,28 and 32℃.Mycelial growth was quicker under 12 h light/dark cycles than under whole dark.Conidia was at mass production 32℃.The disease indices were the highest at 20,25,30℃.Rhizoctonia solani was sensitive to carbendazim,iprodione,pingan-1 and polyoxin in laboratory test.In field trials,iprodione,jinggangmycin,pingan-1 and carbendazim significantly suppressed the disease.

Key words: Rhizoctonia solani, brown patch, Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis)
