Abstract: The aim of the paper was to detect the polymorphism of FSHβ and PRLR genes and study the effects of the polymorphic site on litter size traits in Yunan black pig and three foreign pig breeds. The polymorphism of FSHβ and PRLR genes in Yunan black pigs,Duroc,Landrace and Yorkshire was studied by PCR-RFLP,and the effect of FSHβ and PRLR genes on litter size traits of four breeds was analyzed by the Least Square Analysis. The results showed that for FSHβ gene,CC genotype of Yunan black pig produced 2.67 TNB and 2.79 NBA more than AC genotype in the first parity(P0.05),and produced 2.03 TNB and 2.14 NBA more than AC genotype in the later parity(P0.05).However,the effects of combined genotypes on litter size was insignificant in foreign pig breeds. For PRLR gene, there were no significant difference between the different genotypes of Yunan black pigs in litter size, but a trend of BBABAA existed.BB genotype of foreign pig breeds produced 2.04 TNB and 2.47 NBA more than AB genotype in the later parity(P0.05).This indicated that the reproduction performance of pigs could be improved if FSHβ and PRLR were taken as the candidate genes for pig reproductive performance.
