Abstract: In this article, the materials were 21 new inbred lines derived from 7 synthesized maize populations,6 elite inbred lines in southwest regions and 4 temperate inbred lines including S37,Huangzaosi,Dan598,and Ye478. Study their heterotic groups by SSR markers. Use 126 combinations which were crossed with 21 new maize inbred lines and the 6 tester by the incomplete dialel cross design as materials study heterotic patterns. The results showed that: genetic similarity coefficients among the 31 inbred lines ranged from 0. 520-0. 808,the 31 inbred line were divided into 5 groups, and the group 3 can be divided into three sub-groups; 21 new inbred lines had 6 been assigned to tropical germplasm,2 been assigned to Lancaster group,3 been assigned to Tangsipingtou,1been designated Reid group,9 been classified other group; The tropical germplasm group cross respectively with Reid Group, Lancaster group and Luda Red Cob group can produce strong heterosis in various combinations. Part of the newly selected lines crossed in the dendrogram by cluster analysis for 31 inbred based on SSR data, which indicated that they have same genetic background partly.
