Abstract: Isolate 01-23 from Setosphaeria turcica was chose as the experimental material to research the effects of salicylic acid(SA)on the growth and development, which including the germination rate of conidia, the growth rate of colony, colony morphology, and the mycelium morphology and so on.The results showed that SA supplement at 30 μg/mL in the PDA medium significantly accelerated the conidial germination of the isolate and increased by 1.53 times. There was obvious promotion to the growth rate of colony when the concentration of SA was added to PDA medium. The growth rate increased by 86% at the eighth day when the concentration of SA was 15 μg/mL.The growth rate increased by 61% at the eighth day when the concentration of SA was 30 μg/mL.The growth rate increased by 59% at the tenth day when the concentration of SA was 60 μg/mL.There was also evident effect on the development of mycelium under the treatment of SA.It was not be found that there was distinct influence on the development of mycelium when the concentration of SA was 15 μg/mL.There was also no change in the diameter and morphology of the mycelium when the concentration of SA were 30 μg/mL and 60 μg/mL,while reducing compacted contents, scattered vacuoles, and abnormal mycelium were found in some cell. There was no evident effect on the morphology, the arising time of conidia, and the color of the colony.
