Abstract: Dtgene was a dominant dwarf gene we found and it was mapped on the long arm of chromosome 10.in maize. The reported dominant dwarf genes were limited toDwarf 8(Mpl 1)and Dwarf 9,which were located on the long arm of chromosome1 and the short arm of chromosome 5,respectively.TheDtdwarf mutant was sensitive to gibberellin while accessions that containD8orD9were insensitive to gibberellin. Moreover, allelic analysis betweenDtandD8orD9indicated thatDtwas a non-allelic toD8orD9.Which provedDtgene was a new dominant dwarf gene in maize.

Key words: Maize, Dwarf gene, Allelic analysis
