Abstract: The resistance of traditional Chinese medicine chrysanthemum to chrysanthemum gall midge(Epimgia sp.)was examined in the field based on the gall number. The Qiju from Hebei province was highly susceptible. The little Huaibaiju from Henan province and the little Boju from Anhui province were susceptible. The Hangju from Zhejiang province and the yellow Gongju from Anhui province were resistant to the insect. The white Gongju from Anhui and three wild species were highly resistant. The chrysanthemum gall midge showed ovipositional preference to some susceptive varieties. There was no significant different in the weight of pupae fed on different varieties of chrysanthemum. The mortality of the larvae on different varieties of chrysanthemum were different, showing the exist of larval antibiosis.
