Abstract: Responses of grain -filling parameters to irrigations of 8 winter wheat cultivarswere studied. The results in -dicated that grain weight was significantly different among irrigations. The maximum grain -filling rate(Rmax), mean grain -filling rate(Rmean), and grain -filling rate of metaphase of treatments of no irrigation andwater -saving with only two irriga -tions given were obviously higher than that of four irrigation treatment, leading to higher final grain weight than four irriga -tion treatment. Different grain -filling parameters of different cultivars responded differently to water regimes. However, theproportion of cumulated amount in grain during prophase, metaphase and anaphase was about 0. 21, 0. 61 and 0. 18 for allirrigation treatments, revealing there was no direct relation of periodical proportion of grain filling to water supply for thecultivars used.
