Abstract: The susceptibilities of Sitobion avenae Fab. from different areas to five chloronicotinyl insecticides were evaluated by dip bioassay in laboratory. The results showed that Bengbu (Anhui) population has developed resistance to imidacloprid, acetamiprid, thiamethoxam and imidaclothiz, the resistances to those insecticides had increased by 119.6-fold, 95.7-fold, 26.3-fold and 16.5-fold, respectively, whereas it was susceptible to nicotine. The resistance to imidacloprid of Sichuan population had increased by 5.7fold, while the resistance to thiamethoxam of Yangling (Shannxi) population had increased by 5.3-fold. The Yuxian (Hebei) population had not shown obvious resistance to the five chloronicotinyl insecticides tested.
