Abstract: In this paper, the QTLs of flowering duration were identifiedby using a set of RIL population, which derived from a maize hybrid Nongdal08(Huang CX Xu178),and a genetic linkage map was constructed with 123 SSR molecular markers. The RIL population was evaluated at three locations( Nanyang,Zhengzhou and Xunxian), and two traits including pollen duration and silking duration, were measured. A total of 12 QTLs from the two meas- ured traits were identified,of which two QTLs was same, detected simultaneously in two locations. That is to say, 11 different QTLs were identified, including 5 QTLs for pollen duration and 6 for silking duration. The total contribution of the QTLs detected for each trait could explain 10.6% - 33.1% phenotypie variance. 2 QTLs for pollen duration and 2 for silking duration were located on chromosome 3,while 3 QTLs for silking duration and one for pollen dura- tion were located at the umc2393 - umc1033 region of chromosome 9,indicating that the chromosome 3 and 9 might be the gene concentration area for controlling the flowering duration.
