Abstract: In this article, young embryo of maize inbred lines huangzao 4,zong 31,jinhuang 96B,GY237,478, and hai 921 were cultured in vitro and some important factors affecting maize embryogenic callus induction and differentiation were studied. The results indicated that genotype has remarkable effect on embryogenic callus induction, moreover there is interactive relation between genotype and base medium. Supplementary CH(casein hydrolysate)and L-proline was requisite to embryogenic callus induction on medium. L-Glutamine,inositol,mannitol,AgN03 had little effect on embryogenic callus induction. The combination of embryogenic callus induction and differentiation base medium had a large effect on embryogenic callus differentiation.
