Abstract: Compost extracts of livestock manure have remarkable preventive function to plant disease.T he paper studies the changes of the chlorophylLcontents and the activity of severaLenzymes inside three vegetables after they have been treated with compost extracts of pig manure, horse manure and cow manure. The experi ment result shows that, compared with the control, the activity of CAT in leaves of cucumbers, of PPO in leaves of green peppers, of 1, 3 dextranase in leaves of tomatoes and the content of chlorophylLin leaves of cucumbers increased obviously;the activity of PAL, 1, 3dextranase in leaves of green peppers increased slightly.T he paper concluded that as the activity of the enzymes mentioned above and the chlorophylLcontents are in positive relation to the disease resistance of plants, the compost extracts of livestock manure have resistance inducing function to the three vegetables and the compost extracts of pig manure is the most effective among the three types discussed.
