The Relationship Between the Nucleus of the Wheat Seedling and Ca2+ Under Water Stress

Abstract

Abstract: The relationship between the nucleus of the wheat seedli ng and Ca²⁺ under water stress was examined with the cytochemical method of the improved calciu m antimonate precipitation. The results obtained showed that there was a little calcium in nucleus; the shape of the nucleus liked a ball and the chromatin was scattered distributed. With the longer the duration of water stress the higher the free Ca²⁺ in nucleus and the more serious the ultrastructure of the nu cleus; the membrane of the nucleus wrinkled and the chromatin agglutinated, the shape was abnormal, at last it was disintegrated.
