Abstract: This paper reported genetic performance of the basic vegetative growth stage using P1,P2,F1,F2,BC1,BC2 generations from 2 temperate×tropical combinations. The results showed that the performance of the days to anther, days to shed and days to silkhas an earlier tendency for the cross than for the parents in the combination of 340 (temperate line) ×CML322 (subtropical line with insensitive to photoperiod), and inheritance of the basic growth period belonged to the genetic model of additive-dominance. The performance of the basic vegetative stage in the CML312 line with sensitivity to photoperiod is abnormal withhigher CV within the line and F1. The early tendency ofheterogeneous genotype and the quantitative effect for earlier days to anther, days to shed, days to silk because of the different temperate genetic component ratio in 6 generations were observed.
