Study on the Taxonomy,Distribution and Biological Characteristics of Barly Wireworm in Shanxi Province

Abstract

Abstract: The barly wireworm are one kind of underground pests ,and distributed in most area of Shanxi province.In this paper, four species were found ,there were:Agriotes subvittatus、Melanotus caudex，Pleonomus canaliculatus and Limonius minutus.Among them,the Agriotes subvittatus, Melanotus caudex and Pleonomus canaliculatus were more important than the other species.In the paper,the elevation, soil moisture, pH value, the temperature and the depth of the pest in the ground were researched,the biological characteristics and behavior of every species were analyzed.Above all,the methods of controlling this pest were discussed.
