Abstract: Preliminary experiments of concentrating NDV and IBDV were carried out by using an industrial plate-type UF-1 model ultrafilter. The equipment was simple in operating process and high in efficency of concentrating viruses. The HA titers of the concentrated virus fluids were higher than those of the unconcentrated virus fluids, and were proportional to the increase of concentration. The inactivated oil-adjuvant vaccines were prepared by using concentrated virus fluids and unconcentrated virus fluids. All chickens treated with concentrated vaccins and unconcentrated vaccines could gain 100% protection against virulent NDV and IBDV challenges. Both NDV HI and IBDV VN antibody titers of chickens treated with concentrated vaccinse were much higher than those treated with unconcentrated vaccines. The experimental results indicated that the concentrated vaccine was safer and better than the unconcentrated vaccine.
