Abstract: In the study the characters of the A,B and C lines, and hybrids F1,F2,aBC1,(male sterile line×hybrid F1),bBC1 (hybrid F1 × maintainer line)of the two double low cytoplasmic male sterile line in Brassica napus L.were observed and analysed. It has been found that the male sterility of 384A and 217A belongs to the sporophytic sterile type, and their male sterility is derived from the interaction of a cytoplasmic sterile gene with recessive nucleus genes. It has also been found that 384A has a pair of recessive nucleus genes, and 217A has two pairs of recessive nucleus genes. There were no equipotent genes between the two CMS lines. The genotypes of the two CMS lines are S(r1r1)for the 384A male sterile line,S(r2r2r3r3) for the 217A male sterile line.
