Abstract: Wheat seeds shipped by satellite or high space ballion almost didn’t show any variations in SP1 generation, but in SP2 significant variations were observed in such characters as growth habit, heading date, plant hight, ear type, grain hardness, spike numbers per plant etc. These variations kept stable generally in SP3 or SP4 so the years of selecting a variety could be shortened. Two promising lines have been selected through high space mutation. This method provides a new way for wheat breeding, and also opens up a new field for space departments in serving agriculture.
