Abstract: Abamectin is a neval macrocyclic lactone natural product produced by fermentation of Streptomyces avermitilis. The results of laboratory bioassays show that abamectin is highly toxic to monocrotophos resistant and susceptible Tetranytrus cinnabarinus(Boisduval).LC50 are 0.0038 and 0.0153 mg/L respectively, and LC95 are 0.0263 and 0.0279 mg/L respectivily. When the dosage of 625 thousand times of 0.15EC(18g/L)abamectin sprayed on leaves of cotton, mortality of larvae and nymphs is 52.8% in 24h and 90.0% in 72h,and no effect against eggs. One week after the dosage application which treat cotton seedlings, abamectin has no residual effect to the mite. After the female adults are treated by LC50 value, the mean eggs/female decreased 84.8% in the residual individuals, but increased 100% in their F1 generation.
