Abstract: The Red Longicorn Beetle(RLB, Aromia bungii Faldermann)can damage 30% to 100% of the fruit trees and is one of the important pests in China. It was urgent to find a better way to control it.Traditional control methods are not effective. The nematodes were used to control the RLB on apricot in this study. The efficiency rate ranged from 58.3%-100%one month after the application of nematodes and nearly 100% eight months after the application. There were no significant difference in the control effects among the strains on the RLB larvae, but there were significant difference in the control effects between densities of nematodes.Extremely significant difference was found between 30000IJ/ml and 40000IJ/ml and significant difference was found between 30000IJ/ml and 50000IJ/ml.There was no significant difference between 40000IJ/ml and 50000IJ/ml.The results indicated that it was a new effective method to control RLB larvae with nematodes, and the optimum density of nematodes of 40000IJ/ml was hereby proposed.
