Abstract: The functional leaves from winter wheat varieties, l4 resistant and 23 susceptive to powdery mildew, were analysed by the electrophoresis technique of peroxidase isozymes. It was found that there were clear differences between their zymograms of peroxidase isozymes from the jointing stage to the Baring stage. According to the result presented here, the resistance or the susceptivity to powdery mildew of winter wheat can be easily evaluated with a small amount of leaves before crossing and anther cultivation. Without damaging the growth of the plant,we can identify the resistance of varieties germplasms and breeding materials while conducting the breeding researcn. So it is a fast way to identify the resistance to the powdery mildew in winter wheat.
