Abstract: The photosynthetic rate of the leaf of maize decreases under water stress.Compared with moderate drought-tolerance,higher drought-tolerance has the lower reduction extent of photosythetic rate. The photosythetic rate at flowering period is reduced more than that at anthoecium-differentiation period when water stress occurres. The reduction extent of photosynthetic rate and the intensity of water stress shows positive correlation. The recovering degree of photosynthetic rate is related to the tolerant drought degree of va growth d development period and the intensity of water stress after rewatering.
