Abstract: materials from 12 species of 4 genera relatives to wheat collected from 12 cities and counties of Hebei Province and Beijing region were inoculated with mixture of 11 races of powdery mildew.Among them,8 species appeared immune and the others infective. The powdery mildew races isolated from 49 materials were successfully reinoculated to wheat plants. The parasitization of races showed obvious specialization to the relatives of wheat as well as to wheat.Susceptability in 82.2% susceptable relatives of wheat became lower and lower with the plant development. This paper also dealed with the role of wheat relatives in oversummering of powdery mildew in these regions.
