Abstract: Stable and high-yield performances of three types of high-yielding winter wheat cultivars were compared and, the relationship between yield and its components of them was studied under high-yielding conditions in 1988-1990. The main results were as follows.Yield and most of its components of three different types of wheat cultivars coincided with the following equation.Y = axebxThis equation indicated that no linear relation existed between yield and its components in most circumstances. It was important for three yield components being improved harmoniously to enhance cultivar yield potential further. Meanwhile, primary and secondary components should be differentiated according to their effects on yield and their relationship in three different types of cultivars under certain ecological condition. There were certain difficulties for three types of cultivars to be improved. It was proposed that the medium type was the major type of wheat cultivars in most parts of Shandong province judged by stable and high-yield performances of cultivars.
