Abstract: Collecting urediniospores of Uromyces phaseoli(Pers.) Wint in three sites of Tianjin’s suburb in autumn from 1986 to 1988. Single-uredinial isolates was made twice in susceptible cultivar"Jin-Zhou Shuang Ji Don", then was identified in four cultivars to attain pure isolates. And finally, identified by 19 different bean cultivars commonly used by most countries. The results showed that two main physiological races existed in Tianjin. Their grades of diseases happened on cultivars Olatne, 51051, AXS37, 30-7-2 were 3, 1, 3, 2 and 1, 1, 3, 2 respectively. These two races were different from American race No. 37-53 iedntified by Stavely Race 1, 1, 3, 2 was temporarily named as C. T. J-1(No.1 Tianjin, China) ana race 3, 1, 3, 2 as C. T. J-2(No.2 Tianjin, China). The result showed that two main physiological races existed in Tianjin. Their grades of diseases happened on identified cultivar Olatne, 51051, AXS37, 30-7-2 were 3, 1, 3, 2, and 1, 1, 3, 2. respectively. Comparing with No. 37-58 races of American that is identified by Stavely, no one is the same. So we name temporarily 1, 1, 3, 2 as C. T. J-1(No. l Tianjin, China) and 3, 1, 3, 2 as C. T. J-2(No.2 Tianjin, China), rcspeectively.
