Abstract: The effect on the pcroxidation and cell membrane permeability of aged rapcseeds by osmotic treatment with, polyethylene glycol(PEG) was studied. After aged rapesecds were treated in 20% PEG6000 solution(at 10-15℃), the germination rate and the germinating index of seeds were significantly increased, the cell membrane permeability, the content of peroxide and the lipid peroxidation level of deteriorated seeds were lowered, while the stress tolerance of seeds was obviously raised.

Key words: Rapeseed, Polyethylene glycol, Osmotic treatment, Lipid peroxidation
