Abstract: The level of total boron of soil in Hebei is 25.9 ppm in average and changes from 2 to 75 ppm.The content of available boron in soil extracted in boiling water in 5 minutes is 0.50 ppm in average and changes from 0.02 to 9.38 ppm.The available boron content of soil in 61.8% of cultivated land of this province is below the critical value(0.50 ppm). The boron content in 32.5% of cultivated land is on the middle level(0.51-1.00 ppm).Only 5.7% of cultivated land is rich in teron content(>1 ppm). The boron content in soil depends upon the parent materials of soil.Growth and decline of its content is related to the condition of soil development, soil texture, organic matter,CaCO3 and pH.The relationship between boron and these factors is discussed in this paper.
