Abstract: Twenty one inbreds from ten varieties of Chinese cabbage were tested to investigate the correlations(including genetic, phenotypic and genotypic correlation)between characters of the spring sown plants for seed production and their fall progeny. The result shows that yield and single-plant weight in fall are positively correlated with the beginning of flowering, leaf width, leafstalk width, leaf weight, leaf number, leaf area and leafstalk thickness in spring;spring and fall leaf number, leafstalk width, leaf length, leaf width, leaf area and leaf weight are also positively correlated with leaf shape index. The beginning of flowering in spring is positively correlated with fall leaf number. The spring leaf length is negatively correlated with head firmness in the fall, but positively correlated with plstnt heigth anf head heigth. The correlated genetic gain between fall progeny characters and the beginning of flowering is the largest,so the selection of the beginning of flowering in spring is important.
