Abstract: Large of powder mildew was found on leves of Triticum aestivum in Zhoukou and Shangqiu of Henan province. In order to lay the foundation for powder mildew preventing, controlling and the system evolution, the characteristics of histological morphological with scanning electron microscope, internal transcribed spacer(ITS) region and phylogenetic trees were conducted. The results demonstrated that the wheat powdery mildew belongs to Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici. While phylogenetic tree revealed the pathogen of Shangqiu was highly conserved with the UK, France and USA, which were widely far away from Shangqiu. However the wheat powdery mildew in Shangqiu and Zhoukou share low homology, we suggest that the evolution of B. graminis may be related to its own physiological race.
