Abstract: The mapping population derived from a cross of Nongxi 110 as receptor and Nongxi 531 as donor, including 95 BC2F2 individuals, was developed by back cross breeding program in maize (Zea may L.) . The 126 polymorphic SSR primer pairs between parents, uniformly covering the whole genome, were used for genotyping of 95 BC2F2 individuals. The correlation and OTL analysis for ear traits were performed in this mapping population. The correlative result indicated that there is a significant positive correlation between ear length, ear row number of grain, row kernel number and ear weight,a significant positive correlation between ear length and row kernel number, but a significant negative correlation between ear length and ear diameter. According to CIM mapping method, the total 19 QTL for 6 ear traits were identified and located on in the chromosomes which included 4 QTL for ear length,2 QTL for ear diameter,1 QTL for row kernel number,3 QTL for ear row number,4 QTL for hundred kernel weight,5 QTL for ear kernel weight.
