Abstract: By using the FILTRON medium-cassette ultra-filtration system, the viral antigens of newcastle disease virus (NDV), avian influenza virus (AIV), infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) and egg drop syndrome virus (EDS76V) were concentrated with different pore size ultra-filtration membranes of 30, 50, 100 and 300 K respectively. The results showed that the above five viruses could be concentrated by 30, 50, 100 and 300 K molecular weight of ultra-filtration membranes, the virus recovery rate reached 99.90%-100%. The oil emulsion vaccines were made with concentrated virus fluid, virus fluid and ultra-filtrated fluid, and then were tested in chickens. The vaccination results revealed that concentrated virus vaccines were better than original virus vaccines. The effectiveness of virus fluid were not lost in the course of viral concentration and the virus antigenicity were not altered either.
