Abstract: It is very important to detect the genetic diversity of wild adzuki bean (V. angularis var.nipponensis)for understanding the origin, evolution and diffusion of adzuki bean and giving references to the development and utilization of wild adzuki bean germplasm. Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) was used to analyze the genetic diversity of 16 wild adzuki bean accessions in the present study. Twenty-five random primers was used to amplify the total accessions. Among the total 240 RAPD bands identified, 197 bands(82. 08%)were polymorphic. Four groups(Chinese group,Japanese group, Bhutanese group and Nepal group) were clustered by the digital data of polymorphic bands. There was obvious association between RAPD variation and different adzuki bean geographical regions.
