Abstract: During 1996-2000, 518 accessions of new soybean germplasm from 7 provinces of China were evaluated for their resistance to race 4 of soybean cyst nematode(SCN)by natural infection in the field. Three new resistant varieties to race 4 of SCN were obtained. These resistant varieties were all from Shanxi, and all with black seed coat. Their average number of cyst per plant were 0.2-0.6, and cyst index were 0.4-0.6, so that they can be utilized in resistant breeding due to high resistance and stability.
