Breeding of a New Summer Millet Variety Jigu 17

Abstract

Abstract: The millet variety Jigu 17 was developed by the Dryland Farming Research Institute of Hebei Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, with An 5498 and Jigu 9 as the male parent and the female parent respectively. The variety has the characteristics of high yield,good quality, super sapidity and strong adverse resistance. In April 1996,it passed the prejudication of the Com-mittee on the Examination of Agronomic Crop Variety. In March 1998, it passed the final judg-ment and was named with Jigu 17.
