Abstract: Haploid plants of winter wheat were treated with colchicine on November 29 and February 11, 21, and March 3, respectively. The results of development of haploid plants with different doubling times were as follows; (l)the average plant heights were 54.24,51.67,44.85 and 37.50 cm at the four doubling times, repectively; (2) the spike numbers per plant were 13.03,7.13,7.39 and 4.56;(3)the grain numbers per plant were 267.1,106.6,73.7 and 69.30.The reasons of taller plant heights, more numbers of spikes and grains per plant resulted from earlier doubling treatment were discussed.
