Pathogen of Leaf Blight of Cedar and Its Biological Characteristics

Abstract

Abstract: The symptom of leaf blight of cedar was observed and the germ of the disease was isolated from 1987 to 1989.The pathogen was identified as Pestalotiopsis cryptomeriae(Cooke)Sun.based on the morphology of the conidia.The best condition for conidium germination was 25～30℃ and 98～100% ralative humidity with pH4～6.The germination rate of the conidia was highest in the suspension with 10% cedar leaves.The colony grew best on PDA,better on Czapex's culture and maltose,general on mannose and soybean and worst on lactose.
