Abstract: In order to clarify the relationship between H2O2 velocity and seed vigor of rice seeds to provide method for rapid and noninvasive identification of rice seed vigor, germination percentage, root length, shoot length, electrical conductivity,H2O2 content,CAT activity, and H2O2 velocity of rice seeds for japonica Nipponbare and indica Jinnongsimiao after 0,7,10 d of aging times were measured. The results showed that the germination percentage, root length, shoot length and CAT activity were decreased after aging treatment, and the electrical conductivity,H2O2 content, and efflux velocity were increased. This trend was more obvious after more serious aging treatment of 10 d. H2O2 flow rate and the seed germination percentage showed a significant negative correlation. The magnitude and direction of the H2O2 fluxes of the seed reflect the state of redox equilibrium and the cell membrane, H2O2 fluxes measured by the non-invasive micro-test technique may be a reliable and sensitive method to evaluate seed germination and vigor.
