Abstract: In this paper Cathayaargyrophylla Chun et Kuang was tested for photosynthetic rate with Licor-6400,which would provide some scientific basis for the management of Cathayaargyrophylla Chun et Kuang. Results indicated that in the curves of diurnal changes net photosynthetic rate of Cathayaargyrophylla Chun et Kuang exhibited two peaks and obvious phenomena of midday depression.Decrease of stomatic conductance caused the depression of net photosynthetic rate, which was regulated by stomatal factors. The light compensation point and light saturation point of Cathayaargyrophylla Chun et Kuang were 10.2 and 1 500 μmol/(m2 · s),which indicate Cathayaargyrophylla Chun et Kuang is the sun plants, and adapting illumination environment is relatively narrow

Key words: Cathayaargyrophylla Chun et, Kuang Photosynthetic rate, Transpiration rate, Light saturation point, Light compensation points
