Abstract: With pot cultivation, the effects of cadmium stress on the leaf photosynthetic characteristics of Stachys floridana were studied. The results showed that with the increasing of cadmium concentration, the biomass of Stachys floridana decreased significantly . Cadmium reduced the photosynthetic rate(Pn) ,transpiration rate(Tr) and stomatal conductance(Gs) to 25.00%, 35.52%, 54.02% respectively at a concentration of 250 mg /L. The water use efficiency (WUE) was firstly increased, and then decreased. The intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci) was gradually escalate with the higher cadmium concentration(greater than or equal to 200 mg /L) ,but the increasing of intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci) was relatively less and the increase amplitude was 2.40%-9.15% .
