Abstract: Based on water culture, the effects of the NaCl stress on growth,r oot characters and osmoregulation substances of seedling were studied. The results showed that, the height, the shoot fresh weight, the shoot dry weight, the root fresh weight and the root dry weight of all materials decreased, while root length of WR03-12 increased under low NaCl concentration. With concentrations of NaCl increasing, the total root length, the root volume, the total surface area, the total absorption area, the active absorption area of all materials decreased. The trends of the decreasing range was the similar. Kosihihikari > Changbai9 > WR03-12. Aminonitmgen content and soluble sugar content increased with NaCl increasing,The trends of the increasing range was similar. WR03-12 was biggest,Changbai9 was smaller, and Kosihihikari was smallest. However the trends of the increasing range of proline content was opposite,Kosihihikari > Changbai9 > WR03-12.
