Abstract: With the pot experiments, effects of soaking seeds with succinic acid on the photosynthetic pigment content and enzyme activity in maize leaves were studied in this paper. The results showed that the suitable concentration of succinic acid could increase the content of photosynthetic pigment in leaves. The activity of nitrate reductase(NR),glutamine synthetase(GS),superoxide dismutase(SOD),peroxidas(POD) was enhanced. However, the content of maloaldehyde(MDA) in functional leaves was lower than that of control. The concentration of succinic acid was the best when treated with T3(300 mg/L).
