Studies on Cold Resistance and Breeding Techniques of Ginkgo Seedling

Abstract: Sowing time, sow ing density, shade effect and cold resistance of ginkgo seedling were conducted in south Hebei. The result show ed that suitable sow ing t ime was middle of March;proper density was 60000 grains/ 666.7m2;seedling could live 72h at 0℃, bud injured at -2℃ for 1h and dead at -4℃; new leaves were dead by 14% at -4℃ for 1h and all dead at -6℃ for 1h; growth leaves survived 26% at -8℃ for 1h and all dead at -10℃ for 1h.
