Abstract: The sensitivity of the second leave sheath, plant height, panicle axis, the last but one internode of 4 rice cultivars to GA3 were studied with the microdrop and spraying methods in this experiment. It was found that the second leave sheath, plant height, panicle axis and the last but one internode of Aigui(AG) were non sensitive to GA3.However,Wannianqing(WNQ),Congshengzhulianai(CSZLA) and Teaidao(TAD) were sensitive to GA3.CSZLA was the most sensitive, and their second leave sheath and plant height increased to 121.1% and 185.1% respectively.TheGA1+4 contents in the second leave sheath and panicle of 4 rice cultivars.were determined with enzyme linked immuno sorbent assay. The results showed thatGA1+4 contents in CSZLA was remarkably lower than those of the other three cultivars,andGA1+4 contents in WNQ,AG and TAD were similar. It was suggested that CSZLA was a GA deficient mutant and AG was a GA non sensitive mutant.

Key words: Rice, Elongation, GA3 sensitivity, GA1+4 content
